Golan Heights (or Golan) & Northern Valleys is a geographic region in the north-east of Israel, that include a plateau on the Lebanon-Jordan-Syria border.
The Golan and the Upper Galilee region is a high region, in the east of the Jordan River and the Sea of the Galilee.
The hills range is going up to 1200 meters at the northern side and up to 300 meters at the south; these cliffs surrounding the Sea of the Galilee create a breathtaking view. The Upper Galilee area hills range is rising to 800 meters, when Mount Hermon is 1208 meters high. In the Golan region there is also the Mount Hermon that rises to 2224 meters above sea level.
The Northern Valleys are a part of chained valleys that connects between the Mediterranean Sea and Jordan River. The Izrael Valley spreads over 365 kilometers, and its highest points rise to 119 meters above sea level. Other two main valleys are the Bet Shean Valley and the Harod Valley.
The main settlements at the Golan region are Qazerin and the Arab village Mage'd el Shams. The main cities in the Upper Galilee area are Tzfat, Nahariya and Old Arc.
The Golan and Upper Galilee region is a part of the Mediterranean climate, which is dry in summertime and rainy at winter. The average temperature in the region in August is about 33 degrees, when in the Hermon area it is about 19 degrees. In January the average temperature is about 13 degrees and at the Hermon area it is around 3 degrees.
The Lower Galilee is a part of the Galilee area, and as it's named his hills range are lower then the Upper Galilee area, when they rise to only 600 meters above sea level. The highest point in this region is the top of Mount Camon that rise to 601 meters above sea level.
The climate in the geographic region of the Lower Galilee and Northern Valleys is influenced by the Mediterranean climate, when at the Lower Galilee and eastern sides of the Northern Valleys the weather is drier. The maximum average temperature in the region is around 40 degrees in the month of August, and around 21degrees in January The Golan holds great tourist sites to visit and stay due to its countryside characteristics. It is filled with springs and streams that flow all year days, beside the interesting archeological sites. The rural guest rooms are very developed at this unique area, which provides fascinating places to see and visit. The Upper Galilee cities provide more of a nightlife scene, with its restaurants, pubs, bars and nightclubs. There is a wide range of hotels selection at the area, important historical places, lots of tracks to enjoy and more attractions for tourists.
The region is filled with agriculture field and artificial fish pools, what makes it beautiful and green viewed. There are many species of Birds and animals living at the open fields of the region.
The region contains a wide range of interesting beautiful touristy sites, historical ones and unique track locations.
