Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzeira is the great known Baba Sali, which is famous among the religious Jewish believers, and was a kabbalist that lived from 1890 until 1984.
The Rabbi is known for his miracle making and for helping people, when there is one famous story that he cured a paralyzed soldier, and got him to walk.
His nick name Baba Sali has risen from the title he has been given in Morocco, which was where he came from, and means praying father.
His funeral was attended by an estimated 100,000 people. His grave site in Netivot has become a popular pilgrimage site in the country. Two other people are buried nearby. His wife, Miriam Abuhatzeira, is buried in an adjoining wing of the Baba Sali Tomb as well as David Bouskila, the builder and founder of the tomb complex.
Today the Baba Sali's grave is one of the most visited graves in Israel, and considered to be a holy place. Many people come to the grave to pray to the Baba Sali's soul to bless them and help them to have better life. They ask him for health, fertility, successes, and happiness, with the belief he will hear their prayer and help them.
