Dead Sea

There are many reasons why to visit the Dead Sea, except for the facts that it is the lowest point on earth and the largest natural spa in the world.
It is also one of the true natural wonders and a one-of-a-kind tourism destination of the world.

The Dead Sea is a unique body of water, which located 417 meters below sea level with water that rich with mineral and mud flow.

The Dead Sea is located in the Dead Sea Rift, which is partDead Sea of a long fissure in the earth's surface called the Great Rift Valley.
The Great Rift Valley formed in Miocene times as a result of the Arabian Plate moving northward and then eastward away from the African Plate.
The Dead Sea is considered to be a mini universe with its own different micro climate, and an average of 330 sunshine days per year.
It is also the saltiest and most mineral laden in the world, where everybody can float in the water.

The area has become a large center for health treatment, mostly because of the mineral content of the waters, and other natural containments each have specific health effects.
These natural products mean health and beauty benefits in global sense.
The water temperature varies from 19 °C in February to 31 °C in August, and it also has a greasy feel to it. The water stings cuts, and causes pain if it comes in contact with the eyes.

In addition to all of these natural characters, the visitors that come to the Dead Sea are enjoying a world of blue skies, sunlight through all year and a magnificent natural landscape.

There are also great touring options around this big lake,Dead Sea such as thrilling encounters with history and exploration of the living desert.

The wide range of beaches, spas, hotels, restaurants and leisure-time activities and lots of attractions, should be mentioned.
And all of this heavenly stuff is located less than an hour's drive from Jerusalem.

The Jordan River is the only major stream flowing into Dead Sea when there are no outlet streams.
The Dead Sea is also a Sea of Peace, which joins Israel and Jordan.
